Softball Falls to Viterbo

The Presentation College softball team lost a pair of games against Viterbo in a North Star Athletic Association doubleheader Monday at the PC Winter dome.

In the first game, the Saints only surrendered one run in the first inning but ultimately fell 16-0 in five innings.

Viterbo’s Brooklyn Ottelien went 3-for-3 from the plate with four RBI. Alyssa Nilssen went 3-for-5 with three RBI while Taylor Pacana went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs. Autumn Olson also finished with three RBI and went 2-for-3 from the plate.

Presentation only had three hits in the first game. Cornti Mendoza, Madison Brink and Cherie Malacas each had one hit in game one.

In game two the Saints played a more competitive game, but lost 4-3.

Nilssen went three for four from the plate while also ending her day with an RBI for Viterbo. Ottelien, Taylor Vance and Caitlyn Brown each drove in one run.

Mendoza went 2-for-4 for Presentation while Cherie Malacas and Celia Cerezo each had one RBI.

Bibiana Villeda pitched all seven innings for Presentation and allowed only four runs while striking out one batter.

Kaitlyn Kozik pitched six innings for Viterbo, allowing three runs, and struck out three batters.

The Saints will return to action Friday as they will face off against Mayville State University in a two-day double header.
