PC to Add Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country

Presentation College will add two new sports teams starting in the fall semester of 2018.
Men’s and women’s cross-country will become the ninth and tenth sports rocking the green and gold. These teams will be joining baseball, softball, football, volleyball, men and women’s basketball, and men and women’s soccer in representing Presentation College.
Greg Heier, Presentation College’s athletic director, has appointed head basketball coach Jeremy Reigle as head of recruiting for the new teams. Coach Reigle is confident that he will be able to take the opportunity to lead the cross-country team and turn it into something special. “I am excited to see cross-country added as a varsity sport and am really looking forward to the opportunity to lead the program.”
The level of competition will be dependent on the success of the recruitment of both male and female athletes. If everything goes as planned, the cross-country team will begin intercollegiate competition beginning in fall 2018. When asked whether the team is ready to compete in the fall or not, Heier expressed optimism about both the possibilities that the new sports present and the leadership qualities that Coach Reigle possesses. “With the recruiting efforts being led by Coach Reigle, I am confident that we will be able to build a competitive cross-country program at the NAIA level.”
Whether it is this fall, the following one, or even further into the future, the men’s and women’s cross-country teams at PC are going to be put together by a capable group that will do everything they can to assure the programs are put in position to be as successful as possible.
