Hot bats jolted the Saints baseball team to a dominant four-game sweep over Dakota State this weekend, which moved Presentation ahead of the University of Winnipeg in the standings, and into the final, eighth seed, slot in the conference tournament. The Saints will take on the Bruins of Bellevue University (4) in the first round on Friday, May 5th, in Jamestown, ND. The team is looking to make a run to the title in this return to postseason play after missing out on last year’s tournament.
A rejuvenated Saints offense blasted eight homeruns, and scored a total of 72 runs in their set against Dakota State. The energy provided by the lineup, paired with a brilliant 7 inning, 13 strikeout start by junior left hander, James Lewis, in game one set the tone for the series, and the Saints rode the momentum throughout the weekend. Josh Tabor, Anthony Guzman (2), Michael Cimino, Kyle Angielski, Jace Wyatt, Dryden Kaczmar, and Josh Youngchild all homered, while Angielski would record 10 hits, 9 RBIs, and 8 runs for the series, and Lewis would earn conference pitcher of the week honors.
Pack up the car and hit the road for Jamestown to come support PC Baseball this weekend, and always remember… GO SAINTS!
